15/11/2011 - Final State Training and Development for 2011
Details for the upcoming final State Training and Development Session on the 20th November 2011
Cost - $10 per memberPlease note that this will be the last State Training for 2011.
Details to be released 2012 State Training and Competitions will be released at a later date
What to bring - All TKD protective equipment- including mouth guard (as you would in a competition plus any other extra padding you like- including shoes).
Who can attend - Any player, any age chosen by individual clubs including beginners, advanced and elite.
Essential - TKD Australia Registration and Insurance Card
**A must or member cannot train - a verbal okay from member or instructor will not suffice**Format - The players will break into appropriate groups and the session will be a variety of sparring (- including non, light and full contact.)
The State Training Session will go for two hours
All Juniors (13 years and under) will start from 10.00am to 11.30 amAll Seniors (14 years and above) will start from 11.30 noon to 1pm
Both group sessions will be split accordingly to belt division and age
(if need be)As you will notice the session has been extended to accomadate time for setting up the mats.
To ensure full use of time avaiable and ensure maximum time. Any and all members who arrive early are expected to assist with setup of the training mats. This would ensure that everyone is given a fair chance to train with the full amount of time allocated
Coaches - All coaches are encouraged to attend to assist their own players as well as giving advice to others.
Important Note - This will be a friendly and encouraging session, yet challenging, with an emphasis on development of individuals as well as a state.
***Please note that all participants (Coaches and Competitors) who attend to any State Training and Development Sessions MUST wear the correct uniform (Standard dobok and belt), State Polo Shirts or State Jackets***
No individuals are to wear their club jackets or any attire that would represent their club. Other than the club badge worn on their dobok.
Please bear this in mind that this is a State based event which requires a mutual cooperation from all members of the Taekwondo Community to show a united front.
We look forward to having ALL clubs participate in this training for the development of all players, coaches and clubs within South Australia.
03/11/2011 - 2012 Sports Program
The National Sports and Technical Committees have completed programming of events for 2012. The events listed below are those which are listed as qualifying for TAPS points and events which Taekwondo Australia will target and provide funding assistance to ranked TAPS athletes.
The notional funding for the top 30 ranked TAPS athletes for international events will be:
• Gold: 1st - 5th top ranked females and males 50%
• Silver: 6th - 10th ranked females and males 30%
• Bronze: 11th - 15th ranked females and males 15%
In addition, Taekwondo Australia will also commence its Remote Development Program to assist Tasmania and the Northern Territory in the development of their athletes for both the technical and sparring disciplines with the initial assistance going to Tasmania in 2011 and NT in 2012.Please refer to the National Website for details for 2012 TAP approved events
03/11/2011 - Sparring Training Camp
Taekwondo Australia is pleased to invite black belt athletes, and their coach, to participate in this unique Sparring Training Camp under the guidance of the Belgium’s Senior National Coach, Rudy Pilgrims.
Rudy Pilgrims comes to us with a renowned international coaching reputation and has several of his own athletes on the Belgium National Taekwondo Team who have competed at the European and World Championships. Rudy’s success as a coach has been comprehensively accomplished by his understanding of current trends, techniques and scoring systems.
In addition, the camps will also include sports science seminars covering periodisation and sports psychology to enhance the athletes competition competencies. These exclusive seminars will be delivered by Dr Raul Landeo (Taekwondo Australia’s Education and Sports Development Manager) and Professor Ian Snape (qualified NLP Trainer).
We sincerely hope that athletes and coaches will take the opportunity to participate in these exceptional series of camps, which without doubt, will be one of Australia’s premier Taekwondo instructional event of 2011. Details of the camp program and the steps that you need to take to ensure you have the opportunity to participate in this prestigious event can be downloaded HERETaekwondo Australia is subsidising these camps and making them available to the top 15 female and 15 male TAPS athletes on a funded basis (inclusive of travel expenses for interstate athletes) and at no charge to coaches, to ensure that our members have access to the very best in sparring tuition at competition level.
The camps will be conducted in Victoria on 11 December 2011 and Queensland on 18 December 2011. Registrations open at www.taekwondoausralia.org.au on 3 November 2011 and close on 5 December 2011 unless sold out previously. Hurry as places will be limited.
